If you contort something, a body, a surface, an image, it will fold into itself, no longer revealing to you its original state. This might reveal to you a deeper truth of the object, some fundamental element hirtherto masked. It may also fold that truth into itself, and bury it deeper than it had been. In the movie Blow Up, an image is opened and pulled at in an attempt to find its truth, but becomes so abstracted that it collapses in on itself. CS
